More Kettlebell Sport history.

To stay on the platform for 10 min is the time limit required by current rules. Before 10 min. time limit rule it was unlimited. All lifters stay on the platform more than 30-40 and more minutes,it was boring like hell spectators were yawning and leaving. Every professional girevik was able to lift as long as possible,f. e. in 1988 at first Russian Championship(RSFSR) Moschenikov jerked 180 times for 29 min. and set a record. Before 1989 the time was unlimited you may assume that everyone stayed on the platform more than 10 min. Also in 1969 the official competition includes also KB Press it was Triathlon not Biathlon, even though you have to press with one hand and than snatch with other and after all to perform two hands Jerk. So 10 min limit rules we have today in Biathlon started in 1989. First World Championship Classic (Biathlon)-1993,First Championship of Europe Classic(Biathlon)-1992,First World Cup,(Long Cycle)-1994.First World Championship in Long Cycle-1998. In 2001 the women first time competed in Championship of Russia, result in Snatch in 60 kg was 213 reps. First time relay in Classic Jerk and Long Cycle were included in Russian Championships in 2002,Sergey Rachinskiy considered as godfather of relays. In 1985 GS was included in Unified Sport Classification System and Master of Sport of USSR in GS was established.Sergey Mishin is the first Master of Sport of USSR. Also a few great numbers during Championship of USSR,1989 Fedor Usenko from Ukraine ,80kg,weight category result 149 jerks for 10 min,Yuriy Petrenko (Ukraine) result in snatch 110/110 in weight category 75 kg.
That's is a little bit of GS history :)
